The weather for the weekend looks great so I hope everyone will get to enjoy some outdoor time. After last week’s busy long weekend, I am ok with just spending this one on the couch. Do you ever need a recovery period after a trip away from home? If you would like to reminisce my trip to Montreal with me and Brian, I would love to share some of our photos.

We were able to rent bikes and ride all over town. Brian enjoyed being silly while photos were being taken.

This is my younger sister Nicole. She tagged along with us and was a great sport.

Nicole had a camera lens that formats all photos to fish eye. We played around with it while waiting for some delicious breakfast.

Brian had a craving for southern food and got lucky that one of the brunch places offered Chicken & Waffles.

The downtown area of Montreal was beautiful and filled with cute little boutiques and a ton of cafes.

Nicole took this picture as we were strolling through Old Montreal.

I think I am starting to enjoy these 3 day trips away, maybe the next one will be to Boston or Philadelphia. How about you, any trips planned?

Father’s day is just around the corner. Here are some great finds with a little southern charm mixed in that I have considered getting for my dad for the upcoming Fathers Day.

Cast iron skillet, $37, Every man needs a sturdy pan for frying up some bacon and eggs

The Southerners Handbook $28, A great coffee table book with some fun and quirky advice on being a modern Southerner

Whiskey Stones $11, If your father enjoys a cool glass at the end of the day like mine does, then this is a must buy.

Custom Cuff Links $175, Who wouldn’t want to show their charm through hide cuff links

Shooting sweater $78, This warm wool sweater has the classic protection patches whether you are out hunting or just relaxing on the couch. And another version for a little cheaper.

What do you think of these options? What are your plans for Father’s Day?

I’m getting my toe fixed finally today and will be out of commission when it comes to long hikes & adventures for a few weeks. Charlie will hopefully be patient with me in the mean time.

For now I will keep dreaming of the many fun afternoons to come once I am healed, such as more of this & this.

If you don’t already know how obsessed I am over the Little Prince, here is another example.

While we were out window shopping in Montreal, we saw an adorable little bookstore. Once inside I found this sticky memo pad with Little Prince illustrations. Its now sitting on my work desk but I find it too cute to actually write on.

Once home, I browsed through etsy and found the memo pad available in this cute store.

I have no self control though and ended up finding this Little Prince referenced necklace from an etsy store by Natalia. Its already in my shopping cart.

Do you have any obsessions with certain characters or stories that you end up buying way too many things of? My weakness is Little Prince and anything Great Dane related.

What are your plans for memorial day weekend? Brian and I are heading to Montreal this weekend. We are going to take a lazy Saturday morning drive up there and most likely spend the rest of the day being sluggish especially since its supposed to rain.

Sunday & Monday will be filled with boutique shopping, food and relaxed biking.

Anyone visit Montreal recently and have some advice for places to see?

Hope everyone has a lovely long weekend.

I think everyone will always remember the moment and what they were doing when the first plane hit the world trade center. I was pretty young and in school when it happened. What a tragic day it was, especially for those in New York City.

It has been a long time coming but the 9/11 memorial museum has officially opened to the public today. Tickets can be bought online and there is even a free admission night on Tuesdays from 5pm to 8pm (its recommended to preorder those tickets as well).

I went to the memorial park last fall and really enjoyed what they have done with space, you can now even visit there virtually. I am waiting until the excitement dims down before I visit. What about you?
