Brian and I just came back from our trip to Woodstock, VT. We had a great time with Brians family and many opportunities to just sit back and enjoy our beautiful peaceful surroundings. My next weekend getaway post (last one here) will definitely be about all the great things to do when visiting Woodstock, VT.
In the meantime I hope you enjoy some of the photos we took on our vacation.
This is the house we stayed in.
Most of our free time was spent relaxing and reading on this massive porch.
And enjoying this beautiful view.
Sometimes we wanted to move around a little and did little activities. This was my first time playing croquet.
A lot of the game is spent just standing around looking pretty.
And then getting in goofy poses to hit the ball.
We played boys vs girls and the boys won. This is Brian’s strut of victory.
Brian and I borrowed kayaks and went to Silver Lakes.
The lake is surrounded by beautiful lake houses.
It was our first time trying single kayaks. We enjoyed it a lot more then doubles since we can chat and see each other better throughout.
And so we can take selfies 🙂
Vermont is known for having the best maple syrup and we enjoyed stopping at different farms and seeing the machinery.
One of the farms had a simulation for how it would feel to carry the sap through the snow back to the farm. I couldn’t even lift the buckets, but Brian walked right through.
Brian delivered a beautiful sermon in a cute little chapel on the farm.
Horses were everywhere and we were lucky to have a show right down the block.
Its hypnotizing watching these beautiful horses run the ring.
On our last morning I convinced Brian to wake up early and take a last walk through the property. The start of his grumpy face began…
We found the farm’s maple house and made our way to the maple grove and all the tubing.
The grumpy face continued through most of the walk… but deep inside I know he enjoyed the walk as much as I did.
How beautiful are these trees?
It was a great relaxing trip and I can’t wait to visit again. Have you been to the area of Woodstock, VT? Any recommendations on our next trip up?
How was your week? I hope you have a great weekend!
