Perspectives of a Lady, Gentleman & Dane

Rainy Day Hike

Hannah Sheflyand

I made a promise to myself and to Charlie that once the weather was warmer we would try to get out and move more. Especially since injuring my foot I have let laziness take control of my exercise habits. So even though it was a rainy few days, I decided to make the best of it and off to Ramapo Reservation we went, and in the end was very happy that we did.

Here are some photos of our rainy adventure:

She finally let me get a close up.

She let me get another close up

Luckily another one.

Bouncing Great Dane.

Bouncing Great Dane.

Its not the easiest to get a close up of a bouncy Great Dane without some slobber in the mix.

There is always some slober in the mix when a bouncy dog gets a little too close.

Charlie wanted to show that she was bored of me taking pictures and was ready to go home.

I loved seeing all the new green on the ground and there was an amazing dewey smell in the air.

The smell in the air was amazing- just this perfect blend of rainy dew and mountain air.

Because of the rain we were one of the only hikers around and Charlie was able to run free off leash. Our whole hike was very calming, it felt great being out all alone in the forest. One thing I need is a new pair of boots that are a little more water resistant, these hiking boots are on my want list.

Where do you get your energy out during the week? Is there a particular place you know you can always go to to get some peace and quiet?
