This weekend Brian and I are heading to Boston, and I have been excited planning for it all week. Of course I woke up this morning with the scratchiest painful throat ūüôĀ I hope it heals before Saturday morning.

In the mean time I am longingly looking at all these warm chunky sweaters and want them all wrapped around my sore throat right now:

Hooded Wood Scarf $98- My favorite!!!

In the mean time I will rest with a big cup of hot lemon ginger tea with lots of honey.

What types of scarves do you like to wear? Any good remedies for a sore throat?

I cannot wait until we move south and have warmer weather all year round, I love the heat and the warmth of the sun on me.¬†Our tiny apartment leaves us very cold all winter and we end up having the heat on full blast and hidden under a¬†very warm comforter. Now with the summer in full swing and our apartment is warm, I think it is time we¬†get a second bedding set for our bed/apartment. From everyone’s recommendations for summer bedding, Brian and I decided we want to get a nice big cotton quilt, especially since we can use it as an extra blanket come winter when it will get cold again. I hope that one day I will acquire the skill to make a handmade quilt but in the mean time store bought will have to do the trick. I looked at Macy’s, Nordstrom and a few little boutiques and couldn’t find the right fit for us until Brian reminded me to go look on etsy. I have a genius boyfriend but now also have too many options and cant decide.

I love all the prints & styles. What do you think?

The quilts are from the following etsy shops: HandiPalace, PentagonCrafts, RajasthanRoyals & Moomal

Now I just have to pick! I love the rustic look of quilts compared to a single color comforter covers.

How do you cope with the weather change when it comes to your bed? Have quilts worked for you?

Have I mentioned how much Brian loves bacon? I have never met some one so in love with pork belly, I believe he loves it more then anything else in the world. Over the weekend, we came across a great¬†addition to our kitchen. Isn’t it a perfect pairing with our clay pig?

Most of the apartment has been equally decorated by me and Brian, but there is definitely a big pig influence creeping in, especially with this and this also in our kitchen.

Here are some other great etsy finds to follow the bacon theme that I have considered adding to our place.

Are you a pork/bacon fan?

I always thought I would decorate the kitchen with different floral arrangements, but now its more food themed. What about your kitchen?

How adorable are these aprons? I have been shopping around a lot since my birthday is coming up ūüôā

One for Brain

And one for me!

MsSpanner has a great variety of exciting design detailed household trinkets, including even more aprons.

I find it fun to have things in the kitchen to help bring out a smile. What about you, what do you like to keep in your kitchen?

Getting back to work after spending 4 days at home is tough. I am missing my Charlie and just want to be back at home cuddling up with her again. To make myself feel better I started searching through Etsy for some more Great Dane memorabilia. How cute is this stuff? I am running out of wall space…

If you don’t already know how obsessed I am over the Little Prince, here is another example.

While we were out window shopping in Montreal, we saw an adorable little bookstore. Once inside I found this sticky memo pad with Little Prince illustrations. Its now sitting on my work desk but I find it too cute to actually write on.

Once home, I browsed through etsy and found the memo pad available in this cute store.

I have no self control though and ended up finding this Little Prince referenced necklace from an etsy store by Natalia. Its already in my shopping cart.

Do you have any obsessions with certain characters or stories that you end up buying way too many things of? My weakness is Little Prince and anything Great Dane related.

We live in a pretty small studio apartment and the walls are almost all covered in artwork and photos but the kitchen space seemed to be the one location we really didnt know how to spice up. For Brian’s birthday we went out to dinner at Momofuku Ko (which we highly recommend) and saw a pig carved with something very similar to the picture above. It inspired us to look for artwork similar in style.

I decided to try searching through Etsy where I found the KitchenBathPrints store. They have such a variety of design prints but we fell in love with their animal butcher diagrams.

We went with the choice of picking 9 different prints– which also includes a rabbit, duck and even a deer. Now just waiting anxiously for it to arrive.

How did you decorate your kitchen to make it your own?
